Lynda Eva had been sorting out some photographs when she found these scenes of the late 70s. So she brought them into the library, to one of the Archive’s memory Desks. One picture is of the market site in 1977, and the other is the view from the footbridge over the newly constructed bypass, looking back towards Basildon. The Toyota garage is clearly seen but the Wick estate is in its infancy, and the new road from the Hall’s Corner junction to the bypass is just visible.
