Runwell Village

This peaceful early 1900s photo of Runwell shows a horse and cart outside a building. Is it the Quart Pot?

  • I remember the Quart Pot, late 1970s-early 1980s. I played for the darts team, the landlords were Maurice and Marie Squirrel, one of the barmen was a fellow called Kevin. We used to go from here at throw out time to a club in Hullbridge, to the left of The Anchor.

  • Yes it is definitely the Quart Pot, but a few years before I lived in the house In the background. My parents and I moved there in 1935 when I was 6 months old.

  • After visiting this pub on many occasions, purely for medicinal purposes you understand, I’m sure this is the Quart Pot. Ahh, happy days.

  • Looking at the large tree in the front of the building I would say it was the Quart Pot, but I am not that old.
