In this photo Irvon Hill looks to be a poorly made up road. Many cars are parked in it. Was it used by people using the railway?
On the right buildings can be seen in the playground of the school, are these the extra classrooms that were used when the school expanded?
Can you help date the photo?

On a second look I would say that the buildings on the right are the old junior school, which is now the primary school. There is no sign of the greenhouses above the old Zephyr car on the left. I left school in 1952 and the greenhouses were then.
I went to both Wickford County Infants and Junior Schools from 1958 to 1964. From the cars I would date the photo around the end of that period.
The secondary school is prominent looking at top of picture (I was there 1947 – 52) but I cannot see the greenhouses to the left in front, which were there when I left. Looking at the cars I would say late 50s or early 60s.
