  • This seems strange as it was all farm land behind these properties and I can’t see any reason for them to be built backwards. Old maps show the the road as it his now. Daryl are you any relation to the Perrys who lived in the council houses in Swan Lane in the late 40s/early50s as I knew them well?

  • This looks like my house. As you turn into Church End Lane off of Runwell round, the 6 terraced cottages after the vicarage. Would love to see more photos of these properties. From what I’ve been told the road used to be on the other side of these proporties as the front doors used to be on what are the back of the houses now which is somewhat backed up by there being one window on the front of the houses and 2 on the now back.

  • Could this be an early view of Churchend Lane, viewed from Runwell Church and capturing the notion that at the end of the lane was indeed the church? The houses(?) on the right give a helpful clue, and also the rising ground to the left.
