Bob Dilworth was my uncle. My mum is Lilian Hawes (nee Dilworth, Bob’s younger sister). If anybody would have any stories or pictures to share that include any Dilworths or Haweses from their years in Wickford/Runwell/Shotgate in the 40s and 50s, we would be really grateful, as we don’t have many from that time. Thank you.

Bob Dilworth, who lived at 20 Fanton Walk, who did his National Service as a Grenardier Guardsman, was one of the pall bearers at King George 6’s funeral. All the men were given medals. We saw the funeral at next door Cubberlys.

The photo with the van would be in Alderney Gardens, not Hengist Gardens.
