Ursuline School, Brentwood.

A Wickford schoolgirl's memory of a war-time incident.

Living at Milestone Cottage during W.W.2., I went to the Ursuline School in Brentwood. There were many from Wickford who also attended this school. The photo shows the terrible damage that took place. I was in the building when it happened on the night. My mother who was on A.R.P. duty, stood on London Road and watched the blaze on the horizon, little knowing the school had been hit, until the next morning.
