Wickford Internment Camp.

“I do hope you are able to help me. My great aunt, Emma Braun nee. Rappold, moved to Battlesbridge, Essex, prior to 1939 to live near her husband who had been interned in an internment camp in Wickford. I am afraid that is all I know and I am interested to find out where the camp was and as he was of German origin did it contain other nationalities than Italian?

Herman Gustave Braun would have been around 60 years of age at the time so it must have been very hard for him and I wonder what the conditions would have been like”.
