  • I was one of the committed organisers for this along with Brenda and Alan Cullen. I was only 17 at the time. It was great being a part of something so happy. I remember going round once a week door to door to collect funds. I also remember Brenda and I running up the purple banners on her old treadle sewing machine. There was also a fancy dress competition. Has anyone got any pics of that? Every kid got a mug as well, I wonder if anyone still has theirs?

  • I lived on Arundel Road, right at the end by Moreland. Remember this party so well and can’t believe how long ago it was. Ed Boyle from no 82

  • I remember the Barn Hall estate being built. Wimpeys built the shops in concrete [shuttered and poured] but they had built them back to front, so two days later they knocked them down and rebuilt them.  Now you see it, then you don’t!!!

  • Hi , I also remember it well. I lived on Barn Hall from the day it was built until I was 21. My parents ran the sweetshop.

  • We lived in Arundel Rd and I remember going to the street party – the tables were at the end of the Road near Moreland Road
