Photographs from the 1953 Coronation Celebrations in Wickford

Susan Shelley came into the recent Open Day, held at Christ Church on 13th May, 2023, bringing with her some photographs that her father, Robert Warman, had taken around Shotgate during the time of celebrating the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. It’s now 70 years since these photographs were taken and even the young children shown are now ‘elderly’. Perhaps you recognise a younger you, or your friends of the time, or members of your family.
