TEST POST - ICON MANIPULATIONS

To attach an icon and then subsequently explore its deletion & restoration

Added icon to Media Library (default-icon-deletion-test.jpg)

Setup this page and made icon the default Featured Image

Published with it not showing on New Posts

Went to Home and used in search the word “test”

Post came up with icon thumbnail

Now:

Delete icon from media gallery … done

What has then happened to Featured Image on this page … found it has gone from Featured Image panel, as expected

Confirm what has happened elsewhere, search “test” again … image is still shown as the default icon (09:02 on 13/01/18), not expected.

THIS IS A BIT SURPRISING … DECIDE TO DO NOTHING MORE FOR A WHILE AND SEE HOW STABLE THE ABOVE SITUATION IS (NO IMAGE IN LIBRARY BUT COPY OBVIOUSLY STILL BEING DISPLAYED). JUST A TEMPORARY, EFFECT.  IMAGE WAS IN BUFFER.  WHEN CLOSED DOWN AND RELOADED BROWSER IMAGE HAD GONE. SO ALL AS EXPECTED SO FAR. WILL DO REST OF TESTS LATER IN DAY.

Reload icon to Media Library, same name, check that it goes in as this and not as a suffixed image

Recheck search “test”

Recheck this post for Featured Image.

Recheck 16/01/18. Default image showing for this page is the ‘standard’ default. Nothing in Media gallery. Looked down side panel. Featured image panel has been depopulated (because of image deletion from media gallery). Hence when media image is deleted from gallery the link is broken between it and a nominated icon (above latency was due to image remaining in cache until a reboot took place). SO … if the default icon is deleted and replaced all should be OK because the CS default will be used if the side panel here is not populated (but this conjecture needs to be checked with CS before anyone does any experimenation).
