Wickford Community Archive Open Day 2018

Saturday 28th April was our annual Open Day. The theme of the day was ‘Gumboot Alley’, the story of the Wickford floods in 1958, in photos. Many other photos and maps of Wickford were on show. Two maps in particular, of Wickford and Runwell c.1936, proved very popular.
Over two hundred people visited on the day. Many brought in photos and documents for us to copy. These will be added to the website over the next few months.
Some of the visitors met friends whom they had not seen since childhood, and were able to spend time with them over refreshments.
For those of you that visited please add your memories and photos to the website.
It was a great place to meet and we look forward to next year!
