The flood of September 1958 affected the plans of a number of weddings. One wedding, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church, in London Road, was reported in the British press, but also taken up in the Italian press. Here we show the British report in the Sunday Pictorial of September 1958.

Much later in life, Maureen remarried and became Maureen Brandon. Sadly, she died on 25th January 2019, aged 83, and her funeral was held on 11th February at Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church.
