Mandy Mason (left) was selected as Shotgate Queen in April 1983 with Tracy Ellis (my daughter) as her Princess. They completed a very successful year serving the community and were enthusiastic and helpful girls.
When the roles came up for re-election in April 1984 at a dance at Shotgate Community Hall, nobody was willing to come forward for the contest. So Mandy and Tracy were persuaded to continue for another year. The organisers were apparently very pleased as the girls were aware of what was expected of them and the committee knew that they would not let them down.
