I am trying to trace my Great Grandparents William and Alice Nye who I believe lived and ran the post office in Nevendon Road, Nevendon, Wickford. around 1930s/1940s. My Dad remembers visiting his grandparents here as a child.
They had twin boys, one of whom was my grandad, Charles, maybe known as Charlie, and served in the Army and Jeffrey was in the RAF, daughters Doris (known as Dee) and Jenny or Jennifer who married Lesley Key.
I believe my great grandparents moved here from Chiswick, which came under the district of Brentford, County of Middlesex (from records dated 1912).
My Great Grandmother fostered children and adopted many children whilst living in the area. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
