Wickford County Secondary School

Class U4 1959

Who can remember having to go by coach to the new school in Basildon for a year, because there wasn’t enough room for us. I think it was in our second year.

I can remember being sent during a domestic science lesson, to a shop on the corner of Market Road, with a large mixing bowl to get some confectioners cream to fill the eclairs we had made.

I can only remember one or two names in the photo.

  • I also remember this, but not sure which year it was….I left in 1961, staying an extra year in 5×1. Was it only a year?

  • Yes, I remember going to Basildon for a while on the bus. We must have met at the very least. I also was sent to Rayleigh Sweyne for the same reason, but that got flooded! Do you remember that?
