  • My Mum, Ruth Flexman (nee Carter) the youngest of a family of 10 children, attended this school. When she was just 4 years, she walked with her siblings from Brickfield Cottages in Nevendon Road to the school, twice daily. There were no school dinners so the children walked home at lunch time for their bread & cheese. My 3 children later attended this school when Miss Copsey was Headmistress and the two main teachers were Mrs Peirce and Mrs Hodges.
