  • During the Second World War I spent many weeks living with my grandmother in Sugden Avenue. I and my cousins used to spend many happy hours fishing for minnows in the Crouch. In 2021 I returned for a nostalgic visit only to find the river was a raging torrent. How things can change in 70 years!
