The Quart Pot darts team.

The darts team, which included the Landlord, Mr. Guiver, in about 1936-37.

The pub was a meeting place for village folk, but before becoming a public house it had been a residential house.

For a few years, the Salvation Army used part of the pub premises for regular meetings.

  • Margaret is my Auntie. It was Ernest that went down on the HMS Hood. I would be very interested in making contact if possible.

  • One of these, J. Pedders, was killed on the H.M.S Hood, in the famous battle. His daughter went to school with me, Margaret, I believe. She lived next to the doctor’s in Swan Lane in those days. Is she still in Wickford?
