Ingleside bungalow, Friern Gardens

Plotlands 1930

My Great Grandparents bought two plots of land in Friern Gardens in about 1929/1930. They built two bungalows one for themselves called “Ingleside” and one for their daughter called “Sunnyside”

As a child living in the East End of London I came to visit and was amazed to find the very long gardens. My Uncle kept ferrets and next door kept chickens. This was in the 1950s

When my Grandmother died about 1970 we lost touch.

I have now retired to Wickford myself and find the history very interesting.

My Great Grandparents were Mr & Mrs Capon and their daughter (my Aunt) was Mrs Voyce. They are all buried at Downham Church.
