Wickford Methodist Church, Southend Road.

Does anyone have pictures of the Methodist Church (hall), in Southend Road. It was demolished as part of the redevelopment and building of the bypass.

I remember the Methodist Church. As a young boy I went to Sunday School there with my older sister Sheila. The Sunday School put on a show for parents, Christopher Robin, and guess who was Christopher - me. I had to kneel on the floor saying my prayers in a long nightie whilst the story was told. Can you imagine it? I can't, but I remember kneeling there.

Yes, I remember the Methodist Church.  My sister and I attended between 1949-1952 and were made to feel so welcome.  We also took part in a Sunday School show, my sister playing the piano and me reading poetry.  We also attended the scripture classes, the Band of Hope and the Girls' Friendly Society.  I have very happy memories of being there, and especially remember Miss Bowley.
