Wickford schoolboy, George Elliot Jeffrey, was chosen to carry the Olympic torch on part of its journey through Basildon. He was nominated for all the work he does, fund raising for various charities, St Luke’s being one of the biggest charities that has benefitted from his work. Last Christmas he helped to raise money for the Wickford Lights. This summer holiday has found him volunteering at Wickford Library, helping with The Big Summer Read. Well done George, keep it up.
